A great quote:
According to the Tax Foundation, the average American worker works 127 days of the year just to pay his taxes. That means that government owns 36 percent of the average American’s output—which is more than feudal serfs owed the robber barons. That 36 percent is more than the average American spends on food, clothing and housing. In other words, if it were not for taxes, the average American’s living standard would at least double.
-- Paul Craig Roberts (1939- ) Economist, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration ("Father of Reaganomics"), former editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Scripps Howard News Service.
This is why we all must take part in the governmental decisions that are local, state, and federal. Voting for representatives does, ultimately, effect your livelihood because of the decisions they make.
We must hold them accountable and make sure they hear our voice!
Would you trust a stranger with your bank account?
The answer must be yes, because you do it on a daily basis. As the representatives, you chose or chose not to choose, make decisions with your money all the time.
Think about it?????
